Sustainability and The Story of Stuff
By now, we all heard word Sustainability. But not everybody knows what does it really mean.
In simple terms it means: Don't do anything today that will negatively affect tomorrow.
I love Annie Leonard and The Story of Stuff Project. She explains in very simple terms how our economic and individualistic views brought environment to the state of emergency, and what we can do about it. Here are some of my favorites that got me involved into the "green" movement and studies of sustainability. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do, and will get encouraged to do your part to make our Mother Earth a better place for future generations!
*********
The Story of Stuff: shows the economic, environmental and social effects of our obsession with stuff and expose environmental and social issues that are connected to our need of things to buy. It's very educational, and fun.
The Story of Electronics: This one really hit me hard the first time I saw it. I am one of those people who do not follow the latest technology trends (I still own a flip phone, and I love it!). It amazes me how much of perfectly good and working electronic devises we throw out. Watch this, before you decide to buy one more electronic devise that starts with an "i" in front.
The Story of Bottled Water: All I have to say is STOP buying bottled water! Get a filter and drink tap water from your sink faucet- it's the same that's in the bottle anyway.
The Story of Change: Each of us are responsible for our health, and vitality of our home- our Planet. Do your part to make this world a better place!
